Photos and mugshots of cult leader Charles Manson were shared effectually the globe as we discovered horrifying details of his shocking crimes.

However, they were all spared execution later on the death penalization was abolished in California in 1972 following a US Supreme Court ruling.

Manson  died in prison in 2017 anile 83 after falling gravely ill in prison.

The California Department of Corrections released a statement reading, "Inmate Charles Manson, 83, died of natural causes at 8.13pm on Sunday, Nov 19, 2017, at a Kern County hospital."

He was serving nine life sentences at the time after ordering his followers to conduct out the horrific killings in 1969.
